Summer was fading away, and with it’s passing the rains came. One day I heard a strange noise from the basement. I ran down to discover that the all the septic alarms were sounding. This was the first time they had gone off since the test when they were installed. Racing frantically around, I finally thought to throw the alarms into silence mode. I hadn't lived with septics in 20 years, and here I was with a new system. And it was complaining-- about what, I didn’t know. I got Tony, a repair guy, on the phone, and he sent me out to open the manholes and look down inside. Since no one else was around he instructed me to pull the filters and clean them. YUCK!
